The Chamarga Dam project in Erbil province was contracted by the Romanian company Hidroconstractia and started working. Due to the ISIS war and financial crisis, work on the dam stopped for 8 years, the project we as HABIKA Company signed a subcontract agreement with the contractor for the completion of the project, and will provide drinking water to the villagers near the dam and their livestock. It will be used for agriculture and irrigation. The lake can be used for fish farming.
