The Pawanur Dam project is one of the strategic projects of the Kurdistan Regional Government in the dams sector. It is located in the Garmian administration area - Bibaz district. It is proposed that the dam be built on the Sirwan River. It is an embankment dam with a height of 20 meters and a length of 880 meters. The width of the dam at the dam crest is 9 meters. The capacity of the dam reservoir is 30 million cubic meters, and it can generate 38 megawatts of hydroelectric power.
